Rules for the Obedience Trophy

Nature of the Award
  1. CCRCA Award For Outstanding Achievement in Obedience Competition shall be the highest number of points earned from the Points Schedule in a given calendar year, with no less than three (3) qualifying scores and having any placement of First through Fourth.
  2. Only the first title at any level shall be counted (i.e. no points will be awarded for UDX2 etc or OM2 etc).
  3. The award consists of a plaque with a certificate given to the owner of the winning dog and handler (if different).
  4. The Plaque will have engraved plates attached with the winning dog's name, owner and handler (if different) and is to be displayed at the CCRCA National Specialty Awards Ceremony. The certificate is to be presented to the owner and handler (if different) at the Awards Ceremony. In the event that the owner and/or handler (if different) does not attend, the certificate will be mailed.
  5. In the event of a tie, the highest Obedience level will take precedence of the lower levels.

  1. Any Curly-Coated Retriever registered with the American Kennel Club shall be eligible for the award, provided the owner is a member in good standing with the CCRCA and AKC.
  2. An dog is eligible to repeat as winner.
  1. The Rotation Trophy Chair shall announce a call for nominations in the September/October issue of the "Curly Commentator" and any other method that will call attention to the award.
  2. Any person may nominate a dog for the award by submitting a list of achievements with verifiable evidence to the Records Chair by January 31.
  3. The Rotation Trophy Committee shall seek to verify all reported accomplishments and in doing so, may ask the owner, handler (if different) or any others deemed appropriate for evidence verifying the reported accomplishements.
  4. Determination of the winner is based on the point schedule and shall be a majority of the Rotating Trophy committee members voting.
  5. The Rotating Committee Chair shall forward the name of the winning dog and it’s owner’s name and handler (if different) to the Corresponding Secretary of the CCRCA by March 1. If the National Specialty shall be scheduled before March 15, earlier notification shall be given.
    The Curly-Coated Retriever Club of America, Inc owns the Plaque.
